Sheep to Shawl

They have these contests around here, called Sheep to Shawl.  You have a team of people who start with wool from a sheep, card it, spin it into yarn, and weave it into a shawl.  They have six hours to do the whole thing, and it's really wild.  It makes me tense just watching it.  It gave me an idea, though, to maybe do something like that for a craft fair, only use our angora bunnies.  Of course, we'd have to have a lot of bunnies to get enough to supply more than one team.

I'd do it with knitting or crocheting, though, I think.  I told my mother my idea, and she says maybe we can plan it for next year and get some other people to participate and bring their own fur.  :g:

Stace says he's getting bored in Scotland.  It was okay for a while being  in the middle of nowhere, but he's a guy who needs his technology, and they've barely got dialup access. We keep getting disconnected because his line drops the connection.  Oh, and he got the birthday pressie I sent him...and he loves it!  I made him a sporran, you know, like they wear with kilts. I also knitted the sweater, like I planned, but I decided to give him something Scottish. Probably silly, but that's what I did.

Now there's something I'd like to see, little Stace in a kilt.  I know he's got cute legs. ;-)  Anyhoodle, I wove it from angora thread and worked a ward into it to keep him safe from the Glaistig (or baobhan sith).   Those are Scottish vampires,  and  they appear to men alone at night, dancing with them until they collapse in exhaustion. Then they suck their blood.  Sounds like a gig.

I'm taking care of their dog and the garden while they're gone.  Or I was.  Auntie Bee had me ask if she could rent their house for the time they're gone.  I think she had a fight with her bf, 'cause she's been staying up here all summer, so far.  So, now she's over there, and the dog is her devoted slave.

She said they had some minor spirits that she got rid of, and that they'd been pestering the dog.  I just hope it wasn't anybody they wanted around.  You know, like Great Aunt Harriett, or something.  She said it didn't put up much of a fight, so it probably was no relation.

I really miss Stace.  I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been thinking of going over there and hanging out in his room.  Is that sad? Or maybe perverted?  I won't do it.  Well, I can't, now that Bee is there.  Saved from ignominy by my Auntie.  (How's that for a word and a half?)
